Aortic stiffness increases markedly with age and is associated excess risk for various adverse clinical outcomes, including heart disease, dementia, kidney disease. Although evidence effects of aortic stiffening overwhelming, integration direct indirect measures into routine assessment has lagged behind the science. This brief review will examine recent supporting value as an important new factor hypertension cardiovascular disease offer suggestions incorporating practice.
